Blood on the Threshold
Radu staggered into the sunlit cafe clutching his ribs, blood drying across his battered face. Waitress Maria froze mid-pour, her coffee pot trembling as panic flashed in her wide eyes.
She rushed to his slumped figure by the bright window and urged him to stay awake. He forced a pained smile through swollen lips and insisted he was fine despite his wounds.
No Help on Shift
Manager Andrei stormed forward with cold eyes, furious at the disruption to his busy floor. He ordered Maria to abandon the bleeding stranger and return immediately to serving customers.

She refused to leave Radu suffering on the floor and demanded they call for help. Andrei jabbed his finger toward the door and shouted that she was fired on the spot.
The Call That Changed Everything
As Maria stood speechless from the firing, Radu slowly pulled a smartphone from his pocket. His dazed helplessness vanished as his bruised face hardened with sudden authority.

He stared at the glowing screen for a tense second before dialing a single number. That quiet call promised to overturn the cruel power balance inside the small cafe.
Fired for Compassion
Maria stared at her furious boss, jobless for choosing compassion over cold orders. Around them the entire cafe fell silent as waiting customers sensed an approaching storm.
Andrei still loomed triumphant in the doorway, unaware that power had already shifted. Radu lifted his calm unblinking gaze, making clear that cruelty would soon carry a price.
