A Shout Across The Sunlit Dust
Under harsh midday sun, a senior officer identified as Cross stands motionless beside a military vehicle. Dressed in a crisp white service uniform, his expression is stoic and unreadable as bright light washes over the desert scene.
From off-camera comes an urgent order from fellow officer Sarah: "Cross! Get behind the vehicle!" Despite the warning, Cross does not flinch, duck, or seek shelter, remaining exposed in the open.

Why Isn't He Scared?
Cut to Sarah and fellow soldier Marcus taking cover nearby in tan desert uniforms. The two stay low, eyes locked on Cross in disbelief as the standoff continues around the parked vehicles.
Marcus leans in and whispers to Sarah, "Ma'am. Why isn't he scared?" His voice is tense and confused, while Sarah stares forward, her face tight with concern and focus.

What Was Left In The Dirt
In the same moment, Marcus glances down and spots a small metallic object on the ground. He reaches to pick up a metal identification tag on a chain — a military dog tag — holding it carefully between his fingers.
He turns toward Sarah and holds the chain up for her to see, calling out, "Colonel?" Both officers stare at the tag, their worried expressions suggesting this small find could mean far more than it seems.
